About this Episode
Dyslexia is the most common learning disability affecting children, but what does the research actually tell us about how to identify and support students with dyslexia in practice? In this episode, Phil Capin will moderate a discussion with leading scholars Nadine Gaab (Harvard Graduate School of Education) and Tim Odegard (Middle Tennessee State University), exploring how the science of reading can inform effective supports for students with dyslexia across grades and contexts.
Together, they’ll explore:
What the science tells us about the early development and identification of dyslexia
What instructional practices for students with dyslexia are supported by evidence
The important role of schoolwide systems for screening and ongoing support
This conversation will help educators, school leaders, and others in the field move beyond labels to a deeper, more actionable understanding of how to recognize dyslexia early and provide instruction that helps students thrive as readers.
This event is free and open to all. When you register, you’ll have the opportunity to submit a question you’d like our panelists to consider during the discussion. Selected questions may be shared live during the webinar, helping to shape the conversation and connect directly with participant interests.
