Explaining IDA's New Definition of Dyslexia

“For the first time in more than 20 years, the International Dyslexia Association has updated its definition of dyslexia.”

This Reading the Room panel will focus on unpacking the International Dyslexia Association's (IDA) 2025 definition of dyslexia. Literacy leaders and reading researchers will come together to highlight similarities and differences between the 2002 and 2025 definitions. Panelists will also share their perspectives on how the updated definition might inform conversations about assessment, instruction, and related supports for students with or at risk for dyslexia.
